Jurassic World (2015)
Generalist Supervisor
My work on Jurassic World included several key, one-off shots (including the iconic gate shot - a career high!) and environment set up, execution and supervision on the aviary sequence. The aviary was a full 3D CGI environment which contained rocks, tropical trees, layers of vegetation and a waterfall, all housed in a futuristic geodesic structure.
It was critical that the aviary looked photo-real in order to maintain believably and drama during the helicopter crash sequence, as well as providing a suitable backdrop to the Indominus Rex's ferocity.
The gate shot used a live action plate as a base and was heavily augmented with a digital matte painted view through the gates, animated 3D trees and a fully modelled, textured and lit monorail (complete with digital double passengers.)
